Five years ago, runaway teen Jenna Brown was the victim of a ritualistic murder in the remote woods near the small town of New Dixon, Montana. Law enforcement quickly arrests and charge Jenna’s boyfriend, local Native-American Andre Whitefish. It’s an open and shut case. Or so it would seem.
Cut to present day, as Marci, a documentary filmmaker, arrives in New Dixon after learning about botched forensic evidence in the case that has cleared Andre Whitefish of any wrongdoing. With Andre back in town and the New Dixon Sheriff’s Office blamed for mishandling the case, Marci digs into the truth of what really happened to Jenna in those dark Montana woods. The more Marci digs, the less the stories surrounding Jenna's murder add up, and the killer's identity might come at the cost of Marci’s life.
