Throwing away a promising career as a professional baseball player, John Kierstead follows in his father’s footsteps working as a homicide detective. But when John receives the news that his father has died suddenly, he returns reluctantly to his New Hampshire hometown of Dover, reuniting with his estranged family while he takes on the case of a missing Dover girl, Holly -- who happens to be the daughter of John’s high school sweetheart, and also a case that John’s father had been working on shortly before his death.
